Burnt-out event planner, Noelle Cooper, is drifting. Unmotivated by her job and living in an apartment she hates, she’s just going through the motions of daily life. When Noelle finds out that her late boss left a special assignment just for her, she's cautiously optimistic about the day ahead and the secret event.

What she discovers is an eye-opening look into a world that few know about, and a group of dogs she never knew existed. When one of the dogs slips away unnoticed, Noelle follows him, getting herself into a sticky situation, and changing her life forever.

This short story about a beagle rescue organization is fun and touching, while still providing light education about why beagles are often bred for laboratory research. No animals are harmed in the story, and there is no language or violence, just found family and a happy ending!
