This month begins the Cozy Mystery Road Trip, a month-by-month reading adventure through the United States. If you love the idea of visiting a new city or state via the pages of a cozy mystery book, this is the "trip" for you!
I'm joining several dozen authors and all of their readers on this adventure, and I'm excited to see how everyone will choose the books that they want to read for each state or leg of the route. (Being honest here, I don't think I have the bandwidth to read a book for every state, but I will definitely try to for each monthly section of the country.)
Here's how the Cozy Mystery Road Trip works:
- Each author starts the trip in their home state (in my case, that's Maine, allll the way east)
- Every month, we pick a few states to "visit"; I'll be listing them here on the website, in my newsletter, and on social media
- Each state has a list of 5-10 cozy mystery book recommendations set in that state; I'll share the links with readers so that they can pick the book(s) they'd like to read.

- To track your states visited and books for those states, join my email newsletter, and I'll send you the printable PDF.
Now, onto this month's states and book links!
We've only got one way to go when leaving Maine (and staying in the USA): that's south! For September, we'll travel this route:
Maine → New Hampshire → Vermont → Massachusetts
It takes practically no time to drive through these states, but you'd be hard-pressed not to make many stops along the way to check out the beautiful scenery.

I don't think that New Hampshire gets enough love from the other New England states, so I think I'll read An Escape Goat.
